The Netherlands - Kwikstart - free application and website

Target group: 16+, health care and aftercare youth

Main goal of the project: To prepare and inform youth about what they need to take care of before and when they turn 18 years old

Short summary: Young people in care in the Netherlands are entitled to basic assistance until the age of 18 years. From the moment they leave care there is a lot they have to deal with and needs to be settled, Like an accommodation, finances, a health insurance etc.

The Dutch NGO ‘Kinderperspectief’ designed a free app ;Kwikstart and a website to support young people leaving care between 16 and 23 years with all things that need to be arranged when they are going to live independently.

Kwikstart started as a pilot and afterwards it became well known throughout the Netherlands because not only it is useful for care leavers but also for youngsters who are not in care but still want to live on their own.
